Dad Felt Right at Home at The Lodge

In recognition of our 25 years of service, past and current residents and families are sharing their experiences at The Lodge.
“I find it hard to express how important the Lodge is to our community. From the moment dad (Richard “Dick” Smith) arrived, the staff worked to make him comfortable and at ease. The love and care dad and our family received is hard to express; it was genuine and done with grace. I was so comforted knowing dad was in a safe environment; inside and out and it is so beautiful there.
Dad loved his room, it was large, well lit, and the large windows watching the birds and squirrels were a highlight every day. Dad loved the fireplace, and the “homey” feel that you experience when walking in the front entrance. Truly, the staff was always inviting, friendly, caring, compassionate and we were treated with respect and kindness.
Dad loved the homemade cinnamon rolls every week, the three home cooked meals in the dining room with the table set and the food served to him was a nice treat he liked. The snacks and drinks available 24/7 was a bonus. The increased social interaction and living in a controlled environment was also a perfect win for dad during this time of his life. The availability of having his own uber driver made him smile and loved being chauffeured to his doctor's appointments. All the fun activities they provided at The Lodge were a highlight for him.
Greatness comes in many shapes and sizes, and we have been witnessed to many acts of kindness and caring at The Lodge. Thank you to all the team at the Lodge. Dad felt like he was home.”
